Panasonic has launched two of its phones in India, in what can be termed as their attempt the expand the Eluga series. This time, the two phones are Panasonic Eluga A3 and Eluga A3 Pro. The difference between the two smartphones is just limited to the main processor and the internal storage capacity. Rest of the specs and features remain common.

The common features include the display, which is 5.2 inches and the screen resolution is 720x1280p. This is a full HD display with the Asahi Dragon Trail Glass providing protection to the screen. The dimensions of both the phones are identical and stand at 148.7x72.4x9.1mm. The weight of the smartphone is 161 grams.

The camera setup in both the Panasonic Eluga A3 and the Panasonic Eluga A3 Pro is identical at 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP sensor in the front meant for selfies. The rear camera enjoys the support of a LED flash and autofocus features.

Another common feature which is being touted by Panasonic as the USP of these two Eluga A series phones is the large 4000mAh battery. Perhaps that is the reason for the thickness of the phone being 9.1 mm. And the OS is Android Nougat version 7.0 on both the phones.

Another noteworthy feature of these two Panasonic smartphones is the artificial intelligence based digital assistant, ARBO developed by Panasonic in-house. The company points out that there are very few brands which have their own AI digital assistant and Panasonic hopes its ARBO will help the users of the phones in making full utilization of all the apps and the phone’s key features.

Now on to what’s different in the two phones. As mentioned, the CPU is different; the Panasonic Eluga A3 comes with the Mediatek MT6737 processor, which is a quad-core CPU with a clocking speed of 1.25GHz.

The CPU on the higher end Panasonic Eluga A3 Pro is the Mediatek MT6753 processor. This is an octa-core chipset and its clocking speed is also marginally higher at 1.3GHz.

While both the new Panasonic smartphones will sport 3GB RAM, the internal storage is different. The Panasonic Eluga A3 has 16GB ROM, the Eluga A3 Pro will have 32GB internal storage. A microSD card can be used on either phone to expand the storage to 128GB.

The connectivity and the provision of sensors follow the full suite of options that the latest phones are equipped with.

Panasonic has fixed the price of Rs 11, 290 for the Eluga A3 and Rs 12, 790 for the Eluga A3 Pro in the Indian market.
