Panasonic launches 5.5-inch Eluga Ray 800 with 4GB RAM, AI-based voice assistant

Panasonic’s latest offering in the smartphone space in the Indian market, is the Panasonic Eluga Ray 800. With modest specs, this phone is being positioned as a lower mid-segment device being priced at Rs 9,999.

Speaking of the specifications of this new Panasonic phone, with a metallic body and dimensions of 152.8mmx75.3mmx8.6mm, the Panasomic Eluga Ray 800 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display. The screen resolution is 1080x1920pixels. The screen gets protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3.  

Panasonic has not named the exact processor fitted on this device except to say it is an octa core chipset with a clocking speed of 1.8GHz. The RAM support is 4GB and the internal storage 64GB with the provision for a microSD card slot to lift the onboard storage by an additional 128GB. The battery is quite large at 4000mAh. Panasonic has chosen to stay with the Android Nougat OS, version 7.0 for this latest release.  

Coming to the optics section, you have a 13MP camera in the rear and an 8MP sensor in the front for selfies. There are AI-based features to make the photography experience immersive. There is particularly the interval mode that permits the user to click multiple snaps at one go and later choose the best one for sharing or other purposes.

Panasonic has loaded on this new offering, the Panasonic Eluga Ray 800, its AI-based voice assistant Arbo Hub that takes over many activities that the user might want to get down on the phone. And the multi-window feature enables the user to watch a video and type out a text message at the same time.

As for the other specifications, the phone comes with connectivity options that include 2G / 2.5G / 3G / 4G - LTE configuration, direct Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It’s a dual SIM phone with the second SIM slot a hybrid one to accommodate the microSD card. The 4G VoLTE enabled phone is available in the stunning gold colour. Front Finger print sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient light and OTG are the sensors on board.
