Among the most eagerly awaited of its device launches, OnePlus on Tuesday announced its latest premium flagship devices, the OnePlus 7 series, redefining fast and smooth with the latest technology which pushes the boundaries of the smartphone experience.

“We constantly challenge ourselves to give people the best experience possible,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “A great user experience means freedom and should enhance your life instead of distracting you from it. I’m so proud of what we’ve built with the OnePlus 7 series and can’t wait for people to try out the display.”

The launch event happened in three cities simultaneously, viz. London, New York and Bengaluru.

Along with the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company also launched a cheaper variant: OnePlus 7.

The company says that the 7 is more of an upgrade to the 6T, which was launched late last year, but it has several features that are the same as on the 7 Pro.

While the OnePlus 7 Pro has a unique design of no notch, a pop-up selfie camera and an edge-to-edge display screen, the OnePlus 7 comes with a waterdrop notch and looks quite similar to the OnePlus 6T.

The 6.41-inch OnePlus 7 is an incredible premium experience in a sleek package. Like the 7 Pro, it runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, comes with features such as UFS 3.0, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, RAM boost, new Screen Unlock technology, UltraShot engine, among others. In terms of the OS, it will sport Android 9.0 (Pie) running on the OxygenOS 9.

It comes in 6+128GB and 8+256GB RAM and ROM options.

Camera

The rear camera is a dual lens setup with the main sensor on the OnePlus 7 featuring Sony’s IMX586, a 48-megapixel, ½ inch super-sized sensor with an aperture of f/1.7, and OIS and EIS. The second camera is 5-megapixel, and the whole camera array is again driven by the powerful new UltraShot engine.

The front camera is housed in the notch and is on 16 megapixels.

Unlike the 7 Pro which has a 4000mAh battery, the one on the OnePlus 7 is 3700mAh and comes with 20W Warp Charge capability.

Pricing and availability:

The OnePlus 7 comes in two colours: Mirror Grey and Red.

The Red variant only comes in 8GB RAM and 256GB internal memory options and is priced at Rs 37,999. For the Mirror Gray variant, the 6+128GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999, while the 8+256GB variant is priced at Rs 37,999.
