The Red Magic 3, a new smartphone from Nubia, redefines the high-end specifications on a phone at surprisingly affordable price points. The Red Magic 3 is positioned as a gaming phone with many features to help with better gaming experience. Moreover, the overall hardware and specifications are the latest in the market.
The display on this Nubia Red Magic 3, to start with is a 6.65-inch AMOLED with full HD+ screen resolution. The top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 855SoC is the processor with a massive RAM support of 12GB. The phone will be available in other lower RAM variants of 8GB and 6GB as well. The 12GB RAM variant will have an internal storage level of 256GB while the other variants will sport 128GB and even a 6GB/64GB variant at the low end of this range. The Adreno 640 GPU will take care of the graphics. The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz which is considered quite impressive since most smartphones are equipped with screen refresh rates of 60Hz. This feature gives the users playing games on the smartphone a greater visual experience.
In terms of the external design too, Nubia has perked up the appearance with angular lines and flashing lights to indicate notifications and while playing games. The four colours in which the Red Magic 3 will be available are red, black, red-blue gradient and camouflage.
Now while the focus and emphasis are on the gaming capabilities, the new smartphone from Nubia has other hardware to match the best in the market. There is the camera section that includes a 48MP Sony lens in the rear. Similarly, the battery is a good 5000mAh with a 27W fast charging support, again, keeping the requirements of the avid gamer in view. The 3.5mm jack and the Type C port with a fingerprint sensor in the rear round up the major specs.
The phone’s gaming credentials get a boost from the turbo fan and bents to improve the cooling of the phone.
With all these impressive specs, the high-end Nubia Red Magic 3 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage can be picked up in China for CNY 4299 ($640; Rs 45,000 approx.). The other variants go as far down as $430. The phone was unveiled in China on April 28. There is no information yet on its availability in the other markets.
