Nexus 6P made by Huawei was launched in late 2015 with Android M and then upgraded to the Android Nougat, version 7.1.1, as soon as it was released. Since the product is ultimately Google’s own, the next version 7.1.2 was also updated but it was only the Beta version and now, the smartphone’s OS is being modified to receive the tested version.

According to this report, the users of the Nexus 6P will not only receive the upgrade to the stable version of Nougat 7.1.2, but even the April Android Security patch will be added to this. The revision will occupy an additional 26MB of memory on the Nexus 6P.

For those not familiar with the Huawei Nexus 6P, here are the specifications and features of the phone.   

The Nexus 6P smartphone manufactured by Huawei is a 5.7inch phone and the display resolution is 1440x2560pixels and has a pixel density of 518; quite decent by any standards. The display screen is an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, with multi-touch feature. The screen also gets protection from a Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The CPU that powers the Huawei Nexus 6P is the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 rated at 2.0GHz and the GPU, the standard Adreno 430. The Phone has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and there are models with 64 and 128GB memory capacity also, but there are no slots for removable storage card.

Nexus 6P also comes with a 12.3MP rear camera, dual tone LED flash and an 8MP front selfie camera.

The battery is a decent 3450mAh (non-removable) and fast charging feature is available.

The special features include the fingerprint sensor at the rear of the phone. Besides this, the accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor and also the barometer and compass can all be found.
