Written by : S. Mahadevan

Here’s one more budget phone from the Indian mobile phone company, Micromax. It’s called the iOne and comes with some decent specifications and feature for the price point Micromax is selling it at.

To start with, the Micromax iOne comes with a 5.45-inch HD IPS display and has an aspect ratio of 19:9. The chin at the bottom of the display light appear a bit wide; there is also a notch on top to house the front camera. An octa core Unisoc SC9863 processor is the CPU and the RAM support is 2GB. Internal storage is 16GB with the provision to expand to 128GB via a microSD card. The Android Pie is the OS on this phone.

There is a single camera in the rear of 5MP size and the front selfie camera is also an identical 5MP shooter. Micromax has added some features in the optics section, including advanced real-time bokeh, Time-Lapse and Slow-Motion. Similarly, there are over 9 modes for capturing content and it comes with both the front and rear camera setups. The battery is 2200mAh in size.

Micromax is offering this phone at a price point of Rs 4,999. That should be considered quite reasonable and is targeted at those buyers transitioning from feature phones. First time buyers of smartphones too may prefer this device from the Indian manufacturer.

Micromax had launched the Micromax Infinity N11, Infinity N12 smartphones sometime back. That time the prices of these phones were kept at levels below Rs 10,000. In an adoption of some the latest trends in smartphones, these two phones released in December 2018 sported dual camera setups and the notch on the front display.

The current attempt at achieving an aspect ratio of 19:9 in the latest Micromax iOne can also be seen in this perspective.
