Lenovo K8 Note teaser: To come with 4GB RAM and Android 7.1.1

Written by : S. Mahadevan

Lenovo’s last major release in the brand in India was the Lenovo K6 Note. And so far, expectations were that the next release would be the Note 7.

However, based on a Twitter post on its official page, the company has now let it out that the next launch would be called the Lenovo K8 Note.

 And the date for the launch in the Indian market has been fixed for August 9.

Going a step further, the company has also posted a teaser video online and claims that the new smartphone will be a ‘killer’ device that would subsume competition in the market. It might sound a bit far-fetched right now since much of the information about the phone’s specifications and price are yet to be revealed.

However, whatever details have so far been revealed can be mentioned here. The highlights are as follows:

-          The processor is going to be the MediaTek Helio X20 (deca-core) and its clocking speed will be 1.39GHz

-          There would be a dual camera setup in the rear through their precise specs are not available

-          The OS is going to be the Android 7.1.1; Lenovo will assure of an upgrade to the Android O

-          The RAM would be 4GB

-          Internal storage and other details not disclosed yet;

One can only make some assumptions on the other specs, based on the ones already found in the predecessor the Lenovo K6 Note.

For example, having increased the RAM to 4GB from 3GB, it can be expected that the ROM will also go up from 32GB on the K6 Note to say, 64GB in the new phone.

It is possible that the battery power may be retained at the same 4000mAh level.

One has to wait till the August 9 to obtain the complete information on this proposed ‘killer’ phone from Lenovo.
