Have you ever been in an embarrassing situation when someone sitting next to you or standing over you gets the opportunity to get a sneak peek of what’s on your large smartphone screen? It could be a WhatsApp message or an email and it is while you are travelling that you get the time and the ambience to catch up on some personal messages. Well if you have a Blackberry phone the Android OS, you don’t have to worry about that problem anymore.

Blackberry has just launched what it calls the Privacy Shade app, which permits you to darken the screen and leaves only a small window to enable you to read the contents on the screen.

Create the Window to Suit Your Convenience: The Privacy Shade app of Blackberry allows you to adjust the level of darkness and also the size of the window you need to keep reading. In fact, you can even choose a round or rectangle shaped window. The features in the app allow the user to keep navigating through other functions even while using this facility. These include receiving or making calls or doing any other activity on the phone.

In a review of the app by Next Web, it has been pointed out that this Privacy Shade app can be used even while reading something on your phone while in bed, to keep your partner from being disturbed by the brightness of the screen. The review of the app also has an answer for non-Blackberry users. Its tips other Android users to “simply grab the BlackBerry Manager APK from this page, install it on your device and then download Privacy Shade through that app”
