Huawei has brought out one more smartphone in the middle segment, this time, in Hong Kong and has chosen to fit a huge 4000mAh battery in it.

But first, the detailed specifications of the Huawei Y7 Prime. It’s a 5.5-inch display phone with the screen resolution reading 720x1280p. The display screen has a 2.5D Glass protection. The CPU is the octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC (clocking speed = 1.4GHz) and the GPU, the Adreno 505. The RAM is 3GB. The internal memory in the Huawei Y7 Prime is 32GB and there is the hybrid twin SIM provision which can be used to plug in a microSD card and take the storage level right up to 256GB. The OS is the latest Android 7 Nougat.

The phone’s external appearance and design have been given a lot of consideration with a uni-metal body and there is no physical home button. All operations are through onscreen navigation. For good measure, there is the fingerprint sensor in the rear just below the camera. The physical buttons to adjust the volume and switch the phone off and on are both provided on the right side along the edge.

The rear camera on the Huawei Y7 Prime is of 12MP and there is the LED flash to support better pictures being clicked. The f/2.2 aperture lens in this rear camera and the front camera with an 8MP sensor has a lens with f/2.0 aperture.

This large sized battery certainly lifts the phone’s usefulness to the customers and increases the marketability against competition, the other features being equal.

The phone is being released in three color variants: Gold, grey and silver. The device is being launched in Hong Kong at a price point of HKD 1,880 (approximately Rs 15, 500). One has to wait for more time to learn the plans Huawei has for releasing the Y7 Prime in the other markets.
