HTC U12 specs leaked: To sport six-inch display and four camera setup

After a long interval, HTC is again in the news in the smartphone arena. It is now rumored that the Taiwanese company will soon launch its next flagship the HTC U12 Plus. Codenamed ‘Imagine’, the new phone, going by the leaked images, will sport a 6-inch display which will be of the WQHD+ type with a LCD panel forming the screen.

The processor is expected to be the latest version Qualcomm Snapdragon 845SoC. The phone will have 6GB RAM and the internal storage may be launched in 2 variants, 64GB and 128GB.

The new HTC U12 Plus will come pre-loaded with the Android Oreo, version 8.0 and HTC’s Edge Sense 2.0 UI will form the skin over it. A 3420mAh battery will be the power source for the phone.

It is in the camera department that the new HTC U12 Plus is going to stand out. There will be 4 cameras, 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. The rear camera setup will have one 16MP and one 12MP sensor and there is the LED flash and the physical fingerprint sensor also on the back panel. The front selfie camera will have 2x8MP sensors.

Though these are only leaks right now, the expectation is that the new smartphone from HTC may be actually released only towards the end of May, this year.  

The same source has further reported that HTC will also launch 2 budget level devices called the Breeze and Breeze+ internally, though in the market, it may be called the HTC Desire 12 and 12+. According to leaked specs the phones will have 5.5-inch display and the processor will be a MediaTek one. The RAM is expected to be 2GB and the internal storage 16MB. The cameras will be 13MP (in the rear) and 5MP (in the front) and the battery will be of 2730mAh.  

One will have to wait for the official communication from HTC to know the full specifications and features and also the launch dates and prices.
