Google is in the process of consolidating its different digital payments offerings into one single gateway with multiple functionalities a la Apple Pay. After absorbing Android Pay and Google Wallet into Google Pay, it has now merged Google Pay Send also into Google Pay. Google Pay Send is a peer-to-peer payment mechanism and this functionality can now be accessed on Google Pay itself.

With this, the users of this combined app, which is now enabled on the iOS platform also, can request money as well as send it to other users of Google Pay. Apart from this, a host of other facilities like booking tickets for multiple purposes, whether it is travel, movies or live concerts are also available.

Google has also integrated the consolidated Google Pay with its app Passes, where all your other information on the gift cards, loyalty passes and other information are stored. It becomes quite easy therefore for you to display your ticket at the movie hall or at the airport or train station to enjoy the service. This conforms with the new environment-friendly policy of no-paper, which most of these service providers have adopted.

As can be expected, the data will keep updating the payment information etc. on related folders you have created within your Google account.

This merging of different apps into one Google Pay platform for users is being launched in the US only for now and will be quickly followed up in the UK. The rest of the regions should see it happening not very far from now.
