It is no secret that Paytm is one of the most successful startups in the recent past. And with the Prime Minister’s masterstroke of demonetization ushering in digital payments, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s success knew no bounds.

The testimony to this is the latest Forbes’ World’s Billionaire List. With a new worth of $1.3 billion, Sharma has debuted on the Billionaire list.

As per a report on Inc42, Flipkart co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal who made it to the country’s top 100 rich list in the past, did not get a spot on the list. Replacing them this year is Sharma.

According to Inc42, Sharma even made it to China-based research firm Hurun’s Global Rich List for 2017.

Bill Gates continues to reign supreme with a net worth of $86 billion. This is the 18th time he has made it to the top.
