Anything to do with Apple creates a huge amount of excitement around the world and the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is no exception. The WWDC 2019 kicks off in San Jose, California on Monday June 3 and there are rumours on what will figure in the five-day event this year. From the operating systems’ end, you can expect the iOS 13 to be presented in the beta version as will be the macOS 10.15, WatchOS 6 and tvOS 13. WWDC is by and large dedicated to the software end only. However, the company does use the occasion to make announcements on hardware as well.
There is an expectation that Apple may talk about a new Mac Pro at the event. Read on for more details:
The iOS 13 updates likely — There are always high expectations on the main operating system that runs most Apple devices, at least numerically. The Dark Mode is definitely being predicted as a certainty on this OS version update. Google has already brought an across the app dark mode and Apple too has launched it in Mac OS in Mojave. The developers will be exposed to the changes during the WWDC. Cross-platform app functionality is another update that the developers can expect in the iOS 13. This means apps that run on the iOS and Mac OS can speak to each other. There is a new gesture-based three-finger tap that can help undo or redo certain actions will be introduced. Mail, Screen Time, Messages, Maps and Books are apps which are likely to receive updates with the new software version. There are also changes likely in the iOS meant for use on iPads. Multiple windows display and multitasking are some of the new features being predicted. The routine bug fixes and improvements will also be seen.
Mac OS 10.15 — The general sense being conveyed is that Apple is moving towards apps being able to function seamlessly across the different operating systems. This has been attempted already and will now be expanded and the developers will be able to get a taste of what Apple wants from them in the different third-party apps that the company accepts for its app store.
The Apple WatchOS 6 will also be revealed at the WWDC 2019 with some significant improvements. One main thing to expect is that there may be dedicated apps for Apple Watch or an app store exclusively for the wearable device.
On the Mac Pro, there is precious little that is available on what to expect. You may get to know in a day or two as the WWDC 2019 unfolds.
