Apple rolls out iOS 11.1.2 update to fix iPhone X's unresponsive display and other bugs

The woes faced by Apple with its latest iPhone X don’t seem to be over. The company has had to release several updates and patches to its new version of the OS, iOS 11. The latest one, update 11.1.2 is set to take care of the complaints that the phone’s display unresponsive when the temperature turns too low. It is to be noted that this is the seventh update for the OS since it was released and the last one 11.1.1 came out only a week ago.

The flaw in the iPhone X was reported some days back and possibly, it was noticed by users of the phone living in icy conditions. Apple was aware of the issue and had released a statement that it was working on it and the update will take care of it. The way Apple put it was that the display would be unresponsive when it is subjected to a sudden drop in the ambient temperature causing the display screen to go unresponsive to touch, but will gradually become fully operational again.

The 11.1.2 update is expected to take care of yet another issue with the iPhone X, where there was distortion in the Live photos and videos captured through the phone’s camera. As reported in the media, there have been other bugs noticed as well, in Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone, the iPhone X. One is the green line that appears on the OLED display and the other has to do with a buzzing sound in the earpiece. There are reports that Apple is replacing the devise with the display complaint. The earpiece fault is yet to be directly addressed.

Over-the-air updates of the patch 11.1.2 are available to the iPhones of models iPhone 5s and above and iPad Air and iPad Mini 2. Users have to back up the data on their devices and ensure there is enough battery charge on the phone before going ahead with the installation of the update.

There are also reports that Apple’s next iOS update, 11.2 may be round the corner and will bring with it the Apple Pay Cash and support for faster charging through the 7.5W wireless mode.
