Amazon Echo Input Portable smart speaker launched in India

Written by : S. Mahadevan

Amazon has been constantly launching new products in the market including different variations of the Alexa-based smart speaker. The latest to hit the Indian market is the Amazon Echo Input Portable. This is a battery-operated speaker but performs almost all the functions that the Amazon Echo range of speakers are designed to do.

You now have a hands-free device that you can carry from room to room or to your terrace and continue enjoying the assistance the smart speaker can offer. The functions of playing back music and listening to and executing other voice commands can all be executed with this Amazon Echo Input Portable as well.

The battery fitted on this new portable device is 4,800mAh in power and Amazon says it can keep playing music for over 10 hours on a full charge. In terms of the specs and features, the Amazon Echo Input Portable is provided with four microphones that can pick up voice commands from every corner of the room. The other features, like delivering the news and weather alerts and alarm functions can all be activated by voice commands. A speaker driver takes care of these.

At that level, there is hardly anything different with the Amazon Echo Input Portable from the other Amazon Echo and Echo Dot speakers. The portability through the battery is the novelty here. Users, particularly parents, may find better uses when they appreciate the benefits of having a portable smart speaker and see how it can be used to help with their handling the kids in the house.

This Amazon Echo Input Portable is now being sold at an introductory price of Rs 4,999.
