Theatre to close curtains on film it ran for nearly 1,000 weeks

A film theatre in Mumbai has finally decided to draw the curtains on a film it has run since 1995 and whch is now approaching 1,000 weeks.

According to an NDTV report, Maratha Mandir has been showing Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and has always received a good response. Until now.

The theatre’s managing director Manoj Desai says that the revenues have been falling of late and that an “entire generation” had watched the film in the nearly 20 years since it was released.
