December 2, 1984 is one day thousands and thousands of people in Bhopal will not forget after forty-three tons of toxic gases leaked from the now-infamous Union Carbide plant changed their lives forever. 

One man, Musharaff Ali, who bought a video camera to weddings in Bhopal fled the city to safer areas on that fateful day, but he returned with his camera two days later recording all the devastation he encountered in the city.

Kept a secret for over twenty years due to fear from authorities, the footage has now been put together for public viewing in the form of a film called Bhopal 84. 

"Bhopal is synonymous with everything that is painful and without resolution," said Nadeem Uddin, director and writer of Bhopal 84 in the website.

The video starts off with a byte from an American journalist who had come to cover the gas tragedy and goes on to show the gruesome inflictions of the gas leakage upon Bhopal's unsuspecting residents. (Viewer discretion is advised)
