A hit pair on screen, a love story and marriage that their fans eagerly tracked and a messy divorce - the lives of actors Dileep and Manju Warrier have played out in full public glare for many years now.

Both are busy with their respective cinema careers but now there is a new element that is similar between the two. The actors have become brand ambassadors for the Government of Kerala.

It was recently announced that Dileep will be the Goodwill brand ambassador of Kerala’s “Athulyam Literacy mission”. This literary programme is being framed to ensure education for all, up to class four. It will be announced officially in the inaugural function of the programme. A survey will be conducted to find out the school drop outs who have not completed till class four, as the first step of “Athulya Mission”.

Manju Warrier meanwhile has been declared as the brand ambassador of Kudumbashree’s organic farming project. She is also the brand ambassador for the Kerala government supported "She Taxi" service owned and driven by women and specially meant for female travellers.

However, actors’ being socially responsible is not new in Mollywood as many including superstars are coming forward to stand for social issues. Mammotty was a part of “safe campus clean campus programme” and Mohanlal was the ambassador of Kerala handloom.
