Jagan Mohan Reddy began a two-day hunger strike, aimed at pressing the government to implement loan waivers for farmers, while criticizing the Chandrababu Naidu led government.Called 'Rytu Deeksha', the hunger strike was started by Jaganmohan at Tanuku in the West Godavari district. Addressing a crowd that gathered, the YSRCP chief added that the government had failed to come to the farmer's rescue which also resulted in suicides.86 farmers committed suicide, in the past few months after they failed to get their loans waived or because they were unable to get a fresh loan. The gathering also observed a two minute silence in remembrance of those farmers. "We are fighting against the failed loan waiver scheme for the farmers offered by the TDP government for land pooling, for the proposed capital." Y.V. Subba Reddy, a YSRCP leader earlier told The News Minute. The party has also asked for the expenditure list for all of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's foreign trips including the recent visit to the economic world forum, which was taken from the state exchequer.The party is also targeting the government on a number of issues that the new state faces - the latest being empty coffers and eroding beach roads.
