YSR congress leader hacked to death with axes, police suspect political rivalry

The News Minute | November 28, 2014 | 7:20 am ISTPrabhakar Naidu, former sarpanch of Ramakrishnapuram village and YSRCP leader was hacked to death at Thalukoor village in Kurnool district on Thursday.According to a report in Times of India, Prabhakar was on his way to a mining area on his motorcycle with a pillion rider when the assailants hit them with a tractor and then attacked them with axes.Prabhakar died on the spot and the pillion rider, Bhaskar suffered serious injuries. The police were alerted by eye witnesses and rushed to the spot and shifted Bhaskar to the Kurnool government hospital.The police suspect political rivalry could have led to the murder. Kurnool YSRCP MP Butta Renuka condemned the attack and demanded that the attackers should be punished immediately.
