Director SS Rajamouli, who recreated the imaginary city of Mahishmati in his film 'Baahubali', may soon help create a real city -- Andhra's new capital of Amaravati.

Rajamouli, who is currently busy directing the sequel to Baahubali, has in principle, agreed to the proposal.

According to reports, he may act as an advisor to the state government.

"We have sought his suggestions as he is known for grandeur in his films. The sets he makes for his films are huge and inspiring. We will chalk out a plan to involve him in various committees," Ajay Jain, APCRDA principal secretary, told TOI.

Quoting sources, Hindustan Times reported that state Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was impressed with the designs Rajamouli finalised for the buildings of Mahishmati, and proposed that such designs could be used for some of the government buildings in Amaravati.

Following this, he is reported to have deputed his Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, P Narayana to contact Rajamouli.

A CRDA official told TNM that Rajamouli and his team had met with CRDA officials and discussed a proposal.

"However, nothing is on paper yet. This is all hypothetical only. We are considering it, because even Rajamouli sir will be busy till April next year, because he is finishing his film," the official added.
