Two-year-old girl mauled to death by dogs in Andhra village

In a tragic incident, a two-year-old girl was on Thursday mauled to death by stray dogs in Kanchikacherla mandal of Krishna district, police said.

The deceased was identified as K Ananya, a resident of Vemulapalli village, police said.

"The girl was playing in front of her house, when a pack of stray dogs attacked her. The canines dragged her to nearby bushes and left her there," Kanchikacherla Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) K Eswara Rao said.

The victim's parents, upon finding the girl missing from home, searched for her and found her being mauled by dogs. She had died by then, he said.

A case has been registered by Kanchikacherla police and further investigation is on, he said.
