Tollywood actor Sai Dharam Tej injured in bike accident in Hyderabad

Tollywood actor Sai Dharam Tej, nephew of megastar Chiranjeevi, was injured in a road accident in Hyderabad on the evening of Friday, September 10. The actor suffered a fracture in his collarbone in the mishap, doctors said. The incident took place around 7.30 pm in Hyderabad’s Madhapur when the actor was riding his sports bike. CCTV footage showed that the actor’s bike suddenly slipped on the road, and the actor was dragged for a couple of metres. The actor was wearing a helmet, which minimised the injury to his head.

Initially, the actor was shifted to Medicover hospital, where he was intubated and put on assisted respiration. Later, he was shifted to Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills.

Apollo Hospitals in a statement on Friday night said, “As of now he is medically stable. There are no major injuries to the brain, spine and major organs, based on preliminary investigation. He sustained soft tissue injuries and a collarbone fracture. He is being closely monitored and further evaluation will be done over the next 24 hours. There is no need for any immediate surgical intervention.”

Megastar Chiranjeevi and other family members, including producer Allu Aravind, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, actor Vaisshnav Tej, Niharika, as well as director Trivikram and actor Sundeep Kishan reached Apollo Hospitals and enquired about Sai Tej's health.

Addressing the media, producer Allu Aravind, a family member, said that the actor's condition is better and that he is out of danger. He further appealed to the media against fueling any wild speculations about Sai Tej's health.

Assuring the actor's fans that there was no cause for concern, actor Chiranjeevi said sharing the health bulletin, “Wish to share with All Fans & Well Wishers that There is absolutely NO cause for Concern or Anxiety.He is recovering under expert medical supervision & shall be back in a couple of days.” (sic)
