The Telangana High Court on Friday directed a lower court to grant bail to former CEO of Tv9, V Ravi Prakash in the fake email ID case filed against him by Hyderabad police, following a complaint from T Krishna Prasad, the president of iLabs and authorised representative of iVision, accusing the former CEO of cheating the current management of TV9. 

Justice G Sri Devi passed the direction to the Ninth Additional Metropolitan Magistrate of Kukatpally in Ranga Reddy district to release him on a personal bond of Rs 15,000. As per the order, Ravi Prakash also has to furnish two sureties of an equal sum. 

The former CEO's counsel, Pradhyumna Kumar Reddy, told the court that T Krishna claimed that the offence was committed on May 6, when the accused was in jail in connection with another criminal case. He claimed that the fresh case against him was to keep his client in prison away from Dasara to Diwali and nullify the effect of an earlier bail granted in another case by the court, Telangana Today reported. 

Krishna Prasad had accused Ravi Prakash of using a fake email address with intent to cheat. Following this, the latter filed a fresh application to quash the fresh criminal case against him by Krishna.

Arguing on behalf of his client, T Pradyumna Kumar Reddy told the court that the police had kept Ravi Prakash in dark regarding a fresh case against him. According to the The Hindu, Reddy stated that on October 4, too, Prakash had appeared before the police but they did not inform him of the new FIR and police arrested him. The counsel added that Ravi was arrested again on October 17 in a case filed five months ago and in such cases, though the police are required to issue a notice under Section 41 of CrPC they did not do so, which is a violation of the law.
