Popular Telugu comedian Venu Madhav passes away in Hyderabad

Venu Madhav, the popular Telugu film comedian, passed away on Wednesday afternoon due to multiple health issues. The 39-year-old actor was admitted at the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening and was put on life support.

According to reports, Venu was under treatment for a long time and was advised to undergo a liver transplant surgery.

Speaking to TNM, Yashoda Hospital PRO Sampath said, “Venu Madhav was brought to Yashoda Hospital on Tuesday evening and was availing treatment. The actor was known to be suffering from multiple health issues.”

The hospital confirmed that the actor was declared dead at 12.21 pm on Wednesday.

Venu Madhav had been suffering from liver cirrhosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney issues for which he was undergoing dialysis.

Venu Madhav, born in Kodad in Suryapet district, wasn’t active in cinema for quite a while owing to his ill health. Last year, he had expressed interest in contesting the Assembly elections and had even filed his nomination papers to contest from Kodad.

Having made his debut in Sampradayam in 1996, Venu Madhav has acted in around 170 movies in a career spanning over two decades. Venu Madhav was a renowned mimicry artist before he tried his luck in films, in a small role in Sampradayam. In a short span of time, he rose to fame as a popular comedian with his memorable performances in films like Master, Suswagatham, Tholi Prema and Thamudu.

Some of the actors he’s worked with include Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, to name a few. He has starred in several films including Junior NTR’s Brindavanam, Prabhas’s Chatrapati, Ravi Teja’s Kick. He also starred alongside Chiranjeevi in Shankar Dada MBBS, Andarivaadu, and Jai Chiranjeeva.

Venu Madhav also acted in a couple of Tamil films. He was a popular host in Telugu channels and was last seen in the 2016 Telugu film Students Gang.
