Accusing the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh of wrongfully propagating the fear that YSRCP is deleting voters en masse by filing Form-7, YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday said, “Form-7 request initiates an inquiry” and it didn't mean that the voter's name would be deleted immediately.
Defending the YSRCP's action to delete 'bogus voters', he said, "It is not a crime to file Form-7. It is a natural democratic right to file it. Filing the request would initiate an inquiry and the Election Commission of India (ECI) will verify and remove the name if there is a wrong voter. If it's genuine, they won't do anything," Jagan said.
Jagan was addressing the media after meeting Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. Jagan had discussed the ongoing controversy over TDP's alleged data theft with him. He also said that he will meet EC authorities soon to complain about the alleged data theft committed by the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh.
"Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s involvement in cybercrime is evident as the confidential details of the residents of Andhra Pradesh like the Aadhar and bank account were available with a private company called IT Grids. The wrongful procession and the linking of the details, collected by TDP government to the private players is a cybercrime and should be treated in the same manner," Jagan said.
Jagan accused the CM of adding bogus voters in support of TDP and deleting the voters in favour of YSRCP. "For the past two and a half years, Chandrababu Naidu has been collecting data on the households," he alleged.
He reiterated that there were 59 lakh bogus voters in Andhra Pradesh among which nearly 29 voters had 'double' votes, which included a vote in Telangana and AP.
Jagan also slammed Chandrababu Naidu for portraying the entire controversy as an issue between the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said that the complaint is generally filed where a crime takes place. "Since the offices of these firms are in Hyderabad naturally a complainant will file a case in Hyderabad," the YSRCP chief said.
