Google names Telugu fonts after NTR and Mandali

The News Minute | December 17, 2014 | 11.20 am ISTAs a matter of prestige to the Telugus, Google has released 6 new Telugu fonts on its Fonts directory and named 2 of them under their favourite leader N.T. Rama Rao and former education minister Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao.Google Fonts provide web fonts that can be used for free. By the launch of these 6 fonts, the total number of Telugu fonts has increased to 17, The Hindu reported.In the first Telugu Internet Conference held in California in 2011 the lack of Telugu open-source fonts was discussed. It was to fill that lack that Google has come up with these new fonts. More Telugu fonts would be launched by January, Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad said.
