The charred body of a woman has been found on Sunday at an isolated place near Kannurupalem village of Kasimkota mandal in Visakhapatnam.

The woman is reportedly aged between 25 to 30, and police are yet to confirm her identity.

According to The Hindu, the body was found by locals in the farmland, after which they informed the police.

Kasimkota police along with a Clues team rushed to the spot.

After inspecting the area, the police sent the body for a post-mortem to a hospital in Anakapalle.

Police told The New Indian Express that the body was completely burnt beyond recognition.

However, they suspect the woman to have been murdered before being burnt by unidentified persons.

Police are yet to confirm whether she was sexually assaulted.

While the investigation is still on, a case of suspicious death has been registered at the Kasimkota police station.

In January this year, another charred body of a married woman was found in the fields on the outskirts of Adduru village in the district.

Chodavaram circle inspector Y Murali Rao had then told TNIE that the married woman could be around 35 to 37 years old.
