In a bid to promote tourism, the Andhra Pradesh government plans to build a one-of-its-kind racecar resort spanning 245 acres at a cost of Rs 149 crore in Kodapalli, Anantapur, and will have a race track of 3.2 km. Tourism officials believe that it will attract visitors from Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

The 3-star resort will also be equipped with a helipad, golf course and a sports complex.

Officials have also designed a Water Sports Policy as part of their plans to promote AP tourism, through which they will promote water sports like jet skiing, water skiing, wind surfing, sailing, kayaking and scuba diving.

"Take the suggestions from pioneers in water sports all over the world, and find out how to explore potential to the maximum,” Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu told officials.

The government will also be building a theatre for a musical laser show at Bhavani Island with a housing capacity of 250 people. The project will cost Rs 16 crore and will be completed within 20 days, officials stated.

Chief Minister has also instructed officials to revive forts in the state, which include the Kangundi Fort in Chittoor, Kondaveedu Fort and Bellamkonda Fort in Guntur and Kundurpi Fort in Anantapur.

A plan to protect the Havelock bridge has also been put in place. The bridge, which connects East and West Godavari, can be used for a host of activities like cycling, fishing and recreational activities can be done, informed Tourism authorities through a press release.
