AP transport official arrested with assets valued at Rs 800 cr

A transport official from Andhra Pradesh has been arrested with assets valued to be at Rs 800 crore in the market.

According to an official release from the police, a case of Disproportionate Assets was registered against Adimulam Mohan (52) who is the Deputy Transport Commissioner, Kakinada, East Godavari district.

On April 28, multiple searches were conducted at his residence in Kakinada and other places viz. Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Proddatur of Kadapa dist., Anantapur, Medak and Ballary of Karnataka State, belonging to his friends and relatives houses.

‪During the searches, 8 open plots at Kompally, 4 plots at Madhapur and agriculture land about 54.5 acres at Prakasam, Hyderabad and Nellore districts were found among other things.  

Officials said that the document value of his properties is between Rs 100 crore and Rs 120 crore while a number of bank accounts and lockers located at Hyderabad and other places are yet to be opened.

ACB’s Central Investigation Unit DSP A. Ramadevi said, “We found 2 kg of gold and 5 kg of silver. The other assets are 14 flats in and around Hyderabad, and one building at Panjagutta, a five-storeyed building in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, about 50 acres of land in Nellore, Prakasam and Chittoor districts. We also found Rs. 83,000 cash.”

About 12 lockers have still not been opened, added Ramadevi.

Mohan has been produced before the ACB Court in Vijayawada.
