An assistant engineer from AP Housing Corporation was arrested in Vizianagaram on Monday by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly amassing disproportionate wealth.

As per initial assessment by the ACB, the market value of 53-year-old N Satyam's assets-- the documents of which were seized from his house here and other places including Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Rajahmundry--is to the tune of about Rs 1 crore.

The assets are mostly in his name and family members, ACB DSP Ch Lakshmipathi told PTI.

The seized documents include those of 17 acres of agriculture land, one shopping complex, three big buildings and 15 house plots in Visakhapatnam.

All of them were recovered during raids conducted simultaneously at four places in Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Hyderabad, the DSP said.

The accused officer, who was posted in Badangi in Vizianagaram, will be produced on Tuesday at an ACB court in Visakhapatnam, he added.
