Andhra university professor caught after bullet found in baggage at Hyd airport

The Hyderabad airport police on Monday arrested an Andhra University professor who arrived from the US, after a live round was found in his baggage.

According to reports, the passenger was an associate professor who taught finance at the university.

The Times of India reported:

On Monday morning, Krishna Prasad returned from the US via Dubai in an Emirates flight.When security personnel screened his checked-in baggage, they found a 9 mm live round and detained him. He was later handed over to the RGI Airport police.

"He told us that during his US trip, he collected clothes from people for charity in Visakhapatnam. The live round was found in one of the clothes he received," TOI quotes the police as saying.

The professor was reportedly arrested but let out on bail soon.
