BJP president Amit Shah’s three-day visit to Andhra Pradesh from Monday has been postponed, reportedly to next month.

Shah was scheduled to arrive on August 28, to prepare the party cadre for the 2019 Assembly and Loksabha elections in the state.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that the party chief would hold several internal meetings with party cadre, and different sections of society, to revamp the functioning of the party in the state.

He was scheduled to meet OBC leaders, industrialists, legislators, and educationalists of the state along with "morcha" leaders (wing-wise in-charges) and office bearers during his three-day trip.

However, the visit seems to have been postponed in the wake of reshuffling of the union cabinet in New Delhi.

Speaking to TNM, Visakhapatnam North MLA from the BJP, P Vishnu Kumar Raju, said, "He might have been caught up with the reshuffling of the union cabinet. However, this is mere a postponement in the programme, and we are expecting that the visit will take place next month. The dates are yet to be decided."

Meanwhile, the arrangements to welcome Amit Shah were halted, as BJP members had earlier planned to hold a bike rally in Vijayawada.

Earlier in the week BJP state president K Hari Babu, told TNM, "He (Amit Shah) will be in the state for three days as a part of the party's outreach program 'Sankalp Se Siddi'. There will be brainstorming and interactions with different groups.”

Shah's plan to visit had drawn lot of  political attention, as that  is his first ever trip to Andhra after Venakaiah Naidu left active politics, after he became the Vice-President of India
