Amit Shah eyes South, meets AP CM

The News Minute| August 22, 2014| 11.30 am ISTAfter making his intentions clear about expanding the party base in the Southern States, BJP president Amit Shah met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Hyderabad.Shah had a breakfast meeting with the president of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which is a partner in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and discussed relations between the two parties.Telugu actor and Jana Sena party founder Pawan Kalyan Thursday evening met Shah, who is on a two- day visit to Hyderabad. Described as a courtesy call by the BJP sources, it was strictly a one-to-one meeting.Pawan, younger brother of Congress leader and superstar K. Chiranjeevi, was the star campaigner for BJP-TDP alliance in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in this year’s elections.Addressing BJP workers, Shah said that the party planned to strengthen its base in the southern states. He said that he had lot of hopes on Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and is scheduled to address BJP's village presidents later in the day.Inputs IANS
