The General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam and President of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council Vishal had made a startling revelation during the teaser launch function of his upcoming film Thupparivalan. The star said that he will soon be revealing the name of a Kollywood bigwig who is involved in the video and online piracy of films. This person is responsible for killing Tamil cinema by having a free hand in piracy, he had said at the event. Vishal’s outburst has created ripples in the film industry while movie buffs and film critics are waiting eagerly to know the identity of the person or persons involved.

It may be mentioned that Vishal has been fighting against piracy for a long time now but his efforts have not yielded any dramatic results. It is one of the major issues that is bogging down the Tamil film industry and the star hopes to fight until it is eradicated completely.

While we wait for more information on this, Vishal and his team are gearing up for the release of Thupparivalan. The film is touted to hit the silver screens later next month. Directed by Mysskin, the film has Vishal playing the lead role. It also has an interesting casting with Prasanna, Vinay Rai, Simran, Anu Emmanuel, Andrea Jeremiah, Thalaivasal Vijay and K. Bhagyaraj playing pivotal roles.

Mysskin’s find Arrol Corelli has composed the tunes for this venture with Karthik Venkatraman cranking the camera. Thupparivaalan is produced jointly by Vishal and S Nanthagopal under their respective banners Vishal Film Factory and Madras Enterprises.

The one-minute teaser that was released yesterday has managed to garner the attention of the film buffs. Reports indicate that the audio and trailer launch of the film will happen soon.
