The film will not be directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, the original director. The cast and crew is also not finalized yet.

The Tamil thriller drama, Kurangu Bommai which received a positive response from the audiences is now set to be remade in Telugu. The remake rights have been sold to S Focuss, we hear.

The production house is currently bankrolling the GV Prakash starrer Kupathu Raja, which is slated for release next month and the Kurangu Bommai remake will go on to the floors after this film is out at the theatres.

According to the film’s director Nithilan Swaminathan, he will not be directing the Telugu version and the production house is busy finalizing the star cast and crew.

Ajaneesh Loknath had composed the tunes for the film with NS Udhayakumar wielding the camera and Abhinav Sunder Nayak editing it.

Written by Nithilan Swaminathan and dialogues by Madonne Ashwin The film was produced under the banner Shreya Sri Movies LLP with a budget of Rs. 2.5 crores.

Kurangu Bommai had hit the marquee on September 1 this year and garnered positive reviews which prompted S Focuss to bag the Telugu remake rights.

Director Nithilan Swaminathan shot to limelight after he managed to get the attention of the TV audiences with the reality show Nalaya Iyakkunar, a short film competition show that was telecast on Kalaignar TV a couple of years ago. Following his success with the show, Viddharth approached him and they went on to make Kurangu Bommai.

On his next project, director Nithilan has said that he is working on a script but there is nothing concrete to share as of now. However, he is confident that is next is progressing well and he will be making an announcement very soon.
