If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, the much-anticipated audio launch of superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.o, which has music by AR Rahman, will take place at a grand event in Chennai. After launching the first look of the film in Mumbai, the makers have decided that the audio launch should happen in Chennai as there were complaints by commoners that the makers are ignoring the Tamil market.
With the entire talkie portion already wrapped up, the team is still left with one song and some patchwork to shoot. The entire shooting will be completed by April-end.
Meanwhile, the film’s satellite rights across all languages were recently bagged by Zee Network for a whopping Rs. 100 crore, making it the highest amount paid for an Indian film. Tipped to be the most expensive Indian film being made on a budget of Rs. 450 crore, 2.o is slated for release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi this Diwali in a record number of screens worldwide.
A sequel to Enthiran, the film also stars Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar as the antagonist and he will be seen playing an ornithologist. Rajinikanth will be seen as a scientist and a robot. The project is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
