“The attack on the actor was a plan hatched by the prime accused Pulsar Suni,” Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan declared on Friday.

Speaking at two different events in Kozhikode and Kannur, Pinarayi reiterated that the abduction and alleged rape of a prominent Malayalam actor was carried out based on the plan by Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni.

“He himself framed the whole incident, step by step. The prime accused had clear ideas as to how to execute the crime,” the CM said.

Speaking about allegations of involvement of another actor in the crime, Pinarayi rubbished social media posts and certain media reports that indicated so.

“Media reported that this actor was involved…the police force was behind him and that they questioned the actor at his house. All of this turned out to be false,” Pinarayi said.

He added that there were efforts to paint a wrong picture of the film industry.

The manner in which Pulsar Suni and Vijeesh were arrested by the police, while the duo reached the court to surrender before the magistrate, also found mention in the CM’s address.

“Nobody should pose hindrance in the way of the law. Such an incident must not have happened in the usual circumstances. People who helped the accused get away are equally guilty of the crime,” Pinarayi added.

After Pulsar Suni and Vijieesh were arrested on Thursday, police produced them before the magistrate the following day. The duo have been remanded in 14 days judicial custody.
