Fahadh Faasil, in Sathyan Anthikad’s ‘Oru Indian Pranaya Katha’, essayed the role of a young politician in Kerala who plays cunning political tricks.  One of the memorable scenes from the film which invoked laughter from the audience was when he runs away from a protest led by him after it turns violent.

Something similar occurred in real life in Kozhikode on Tuesday.

The Muslim Students Federation (MSF), the students’ wing of the Indian Union of Muslim League (IUML), conducted a march to the office of the Deputy Director of Education, protesting over the delay in the distribution of textbooks in state schools.

The protestors tried to jump over the barricades kept by the police and shouted slogans. The MSF leader who led the march, Sayed Sharafudheen Jifri Thangal, gave a speech saying MSF will not turn away from the protest till the textbooks are distributed.

Later, however, the protest turned violent as the police started retaliating. It was then that the leader, Jifri Thangal, was found running away with full gusto, reminding the bystanders of Fahadh Faasil’s exit.

After Reporter TV put out the video of Jifri Thangal running, trolls have had a field day with some commenting that the Indian Olympic Association seems to have missed out on a talent like the student leader.

This video shows Jifri Thangal running faster than a vehicle on the road!
