Filmmaker Kasthuri Raja has rubbished claims made by an elderly couple from Melur that actor Dhanush is their long separated son. In their complaint, they claimed that Dhanush ran away from their home to join movies, as a teenager. Last October, they even sent a legal notice and wanted to reunite with him. Dhanush’s father and filmmaker Kasthuri Raja, however, doesn’t seem to be disturbed by the claims and says that he need not explain or prove that Dhanush is his son.
Talking to Times of India, he said, “All this doesn't upset us as we know that their claims are false. So, instead of handling it emotionally, we've decided to patiently follow the course of the law."
He adds, "I started my film career in 1991 and I've been a public figure since then. Everybody knows about my family and therefore I need not explain it to anyone that Dhanush is my son, except to the court. As we're law-abiding citizens, we've submitted all proper records that are required."
Earlier this week, when Dhanush along with his father and mother appeared in a Madurai court, the Ranjhanaa actor was instructed to undergo a DNA test. Kasthuri Raja refused to comment on whether Dhanush will take the test or not.
