According to reports doing rounds in tinsel town, Mammootty’s Pullikaran Staraa and Parava in which Dulquer plays a small but important role, will be hitting the screens for Onam. While their fans would be waiting in anticipation to see the father and son grace the silver screens during the festive season, it is a clash that will be averted, say sources in the trade.
Both Mammootty as well as Dulquer will not be keen on having a box office clash, we hear. Incidentally, Pullikaran Staraa has Mammootty play the lead role while in Parava, Dulquer Salmaan will be seen making a cameo appearance.
There are also reports doing rounds that Mammootty’s Masterpiece is slotted for release during the Dasara season and that Dulquer’s Solo would be out at the theatres around the same time. However, there is no official word about the release date yet.
While Pullikaran Staraa has been directed by Syamdhar, the film has Deepti Sati, Asha Sarath, Dileesh Pothan, Innocent, Harish and others in the star cast. Parava is directed by Shoubin Shahir and has Shane Nigam, Zinil Zainudeen and Arjun Ashokan playing the lead roles with Dulquer making a cameo appearance.
On the other hand, Masterpiece, which is directed by Ajai Vasudev, has Mammootty playing the lead role with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Gokul Suresh, Mukesh and Kalabhavan Shajohn playing pivotal roles. Dulquer’s Solo is a bilingual made in Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously.
The film is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and stars Deepti Sati, Sai Dhanshika, Arthi Venkatesh, Neha Sharma, Sruthi Hariharan and Sai Tamhankar. If Mammootty and Dulquer’s films clash at the box office, it would indeed be an interesting battle.
