Movie buffs are excited over the release of the Mani Ratnam directorial Kaatru Veliyidai next month and are waiting eagerly to know what the director has in store for them this time. Known to be a master in directing romance films, Mani Ratnam has taken up the same genre this time, too.
The British Board of Film Certification (BBFC), which had censored Kaatru Veliyidai recently, has put up a synopsis about the film which reveals the plot. It reads: “A military pilot, being held as a prisoner of war, remembers his romance with a local doctor.” Well, that certainly sounds intriguing!
With a run time of 146 minutes, the film has been cleared with a 'U' certificate by the censor board officials. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film stars Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari as the lead pair. Karthi plays a military pilot and Aditi will be seen as a doctor.
Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman has composed music for Kaatru Veliyidai. Mani Ratnam has produced the film under his banner Madras Talkies and Sri Thenandal Films will be distributing it. Kaatru Veliyidai’s Telugu version, Cheliya, is also getting ready to hit the screens on April 7.
