1. The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday stayed all further proceedings against professor Kancha Ilaiah in a criminal case registered against him regarding an article published in a Telugu daily. 2. ENT surgeon at Kims hospital Dr K. Raghavendra Rao, 62, was found dead inside his BMW car at Old Bowenpally under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday morning. Hours after Dr Rao went missing, his son tracked his car with its GPS and alerted the police. The police found a liquor bottle in the car and there were no external injuries on the body, Deccan Chronicle reports.
3.The government has decided to sanction one bar licence for a population of 13,000 in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.The State government on Wednesday issued guidelines for sanctioning of bar licences in GHMC limits, municipal corporations, Nagar Panchayats among others. 4. Students at the University of Hyderabad are not happy – they are now being lectured by the police on social media behaviour. The jurisdictional Cyberabad police have handed out flyers to students on campus and have also put them up on notice boards in the college and the hostels. The flyers state, “You can get expelled, suspended or punished for a social media hate post.” Read more.
5. Kadamba, the Royal Bengal Tiger, which was tranquilised after it attempted an escape from the Nehru Zoological Park last Saturday, has recovered fully. The zoo officials on Wednesday said that there was no need to worry as the six-year-old big cat was active and taking food as per routine.
