Puducherry shocker: Man chops father and nephew into pieces over property dispute, arrested
In a murder most foul, a physiotherapist in Puducherry killed his father and nephew over a property dispute and chopped the bodies into several pieces, as per a report by Bosco Dominique in The Times of India.
The man’s mother helped him in cutting up the bodies. Both were arrested on Thursday.
The physiotherapist has been identified as S Siva alias Sivakumar, 42, and his mother as S Vasantha, 65, from D Nagar.
Sivakumar and his wife Vasantha had enmity with his father Selvaraj, a retired driver of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) over sharing of properties, according to Superintendent of Police Rachna Singh.
On April 15, an argument broke out and in the ensuing scuffle, Sivakumar murdered his father in a fit of rage, using kitchen knives and scissors, the report says. His nephew who tried to intervene was also attacked.
On hearing the commotion, Sivakumar’s mother who was on the terrace rushed and came down. The duo later decided to hush up the crime and chopped the bodies into several pieces.
Sivakumar put them in a gunny bag and dumped it into a 200-foot stream at Poothurai village in Tamil Nadu, the report adds. Following the crime, he and his mother went absconding.
On April 19, the neighbours sensed something fishy as foul smell was emanating from the house.
A police team then arrived and broke open the house to find bloodstains. Meanwhile, police managed to contact Sivakumar and his mother who claimed they were away in Tiruvannamalai to visit temples and had left the district five days ago.
Sivkumar later confessed to the crime and the duo were sent to judicial custody.
The weapons used for the murder were seized by the police, who also recovered the chopped bodies.
