The union government would abide by the principles of cooperative federalism and not discriminate against the state in the allocation of central funds, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday.Addressing a rally at the National College Grounds in Bengaluru after the conclusion of the first day of the national executive meeting in the city, Modi said that the state government had received only Rs 14,000 crore in 60 years, but that he would ensure that Karnataka receive a total of Rs 1.83 lakh crore in the next five years as opposed to the Rs 61,600 crore during the last five years.BBMP files case against BJPThe BBMP has filed a case against BJP leaders for defacing the city’s streets and public infrastructure with buntings of the party and large cutouts and hoardings of the party and its leaders.The High Grounds police have booked a case under the relevant sections of the Karnataka Open Place (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1981. The move comes after a group of activists met Upalokayutka Subhash B Adi a day ahead of the commencement of the BJP’s national executive. Adi then directed the BBMP to file a case against those who had put up the banners and buntings.
