Kiccha Sudeep will be starring in a sports-based film for the first time in his career and this has his fans excited. Now, there is some more information coming out from sources close to the Phailwan team. To be helmed by Krishna, who had directed Sudeep in the hit film Hebbuli, Phailwan will have Sudeep playing a boxer as well as a wrestler. Well, it is a very challenging role and the star is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of the character.
It is learnt that director Krishna has approached a couple of boxing federations to get some expert boxers to train Sudeep on the nuances of boxing. This will help him perfect the role. Noted stunt choreographer, Ravi Varma, will be choreographing the stunt sequences and has special plans in place for it. The team intends to shoot a few stunt sequences and the climax block abroad for better quality, say sources.
Fans are eager to know about the female lead but we hear the slot remains vacant as of now. Director Krishna is scouting for a suitable heroine as the film has a meaty role and he wants a performance-oriented female lead.
Sudeep is currently busy with the Prem directorial The Villain in which he shares the screen space with Dr Shiva Rajkumar. This film’s shooting is expected to be wrapped up next month following which Sudeep will be hopping on to the sets of Phailwan, it is said. It is worth mentioning that Krishna will be producing Phailwan under his home banner.
Apart from The Villain, Sudeep also has a Hindi film Tiger Zinda Hai and a Hollywood movie Risen in his kitty.
