Actor-turned-director Kamaal R Khan is at it again. The self-proclaimed critic, who spends much of his time on Twitter dishing out insults at sundry members of the film fraternity, has once again turned to his favourite topic: the unappealing looks of South Indian film stars.
KRK, as he is often referred to, posted a series of tweets on the morning of March 17, taking potshots at Telugu film star Pawan Kalyan, calling him a “Maha Sada Huwa hero” (rotten hero), and “lukkha” (useless).
I will prefer to watch Rajpal Yadav film instead of the joker, the cartoon, the Maha Sada Huwa hero, Pawan Kalyan pic.twitter.com/H1VwtG89TV

If this Lukkha Pawan Kalyan singh is also a hero then anybody in the world can be a super star. pic.twitter.com/d1CdjHyueY

He also cast aspersions on the collective good taste of “South Indian People”, asking them how they could watch “this cartoon in films as a hero”.
What's wrong with South Indian ppl? How can they watch this cartoon in the films as a hero? Really very bad choice! pic.twitter.com/dd0lZ5Z2O7

Fans of the star of such hits as Gabbar Singh, Kushi and Attarintiki Daaredi were quick to rise up to defend their hero.
Some were polite and restrained:
@kamaalrkhan KRK Learn to respect people he is one of the biggest star in South & he is good human..people love to watch his movies...

Others came back with acerbic barbs:
@kamaalrkhan This speaks volumes about your taste and explains how Deshdrohi was made.

@kamaalrkhan That's the reason you became Rajpal Yadav of Indian twitter...go get a life!

Others simply warned KRK to steer clear of Hyderabad:
@kamaalrkhan so by abusing pawan u want publicity in south right ? Pls don't come hyd. Fans will break your legs nd will put in ur hands.

This isn’t the first time KRK has gone after South Indian stars. Back in July 2015, KRK had taken a dig at Samantha Ruth Prabhu, claiming she looked like Deepika Padukone’s hairdresser.
Hey @Samanthaprabhu2 someone told me that you are very big heroine in south. You look like a hair dresser of Deepika Padukone then how?

On that occasion too, fans gave him a schooling on South Indian actresses:
@kamaalrkhan Deepika also from south Ra fool.. Y u r always barking on south.. We r #Indians @Samanthaprabhu2

KRK has had Twitter attacks on Alia Bhatt and Diana Penty backfire on him in the past as well.
