The News Minute | November 30, 2014 | 09:57 am IST CPI (Maoist) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the November 17 attack on Agraharam Resort at Thirunelli in Mananthawadi. The Times of India reports that the party issued a press release stating that the attack was a warning against the resort mafia in Wayanad which according to them, is destroying the ecology and economy in the region. 'The resorts that mushroom in ecologically sensitive areas are destroying the ecology and economy here', part of the statement reads. The press release, which was issued in the name of its official spokesperson Jogi, also mentioned that the attack was in continuation of the agitation carried out against the illegal quarry at Vilanagad last year. Earlier, a Maoist leader from Bastar had reportedly claimed that the CPI (Maoist) was not responsible for the attack on the office of Nitta Gelatin India in Kochi. Jogi's statement dismissed the Bastar leader's claim stating that a local party worker in another part of the country would not know about the party's activities in Kerala.  The party thus claiming responsibility in both the attacks urged people to support it in its fight against the `corporate-mafia' government.
