A woman teacher has been accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl on Friday afternoon, states a report by The Times of India

The school where the woman teacher teaches is located in RT Nagar.

The child has reportedly confirmed the assault, but the police are waiting for her to identify the assaulter. The girl has been sent for medical examination. Police are awaiting the results of the medical examination. No arrests have been made so far, adds the report.

The alleged incident is said to have taken place on Friday afternoon, and a complaint was registered under the POCSO Act only in the evening when the girl complained of pain in her private parts. The police have detained some staff members for questioning.

A report in The Hindu states that the Commissioner for Public Instruction Mohammad Mohsin said that the school was operating classes one to ten, along with pre-primary classes. The school, however, does not have permission to run pre-primary classes. “We will serve a show-cause notice to the school in this regard,", said Mohsin to The Hindu.
