A woman was arrested in Saudi Arabia after she was found watching a football match in a stadium by disguising herself as a man. According to The Independent report, the police said the woman had purchased her ticket on the web and was able to sneek pass the security by wearing men's clothing, baseball cap and a hoodie to cover her hair.
A video posted on Youtube showed the woman sitting by herself in a section of the Al-Jawhara stadium in Jeddah, said the report.
However, it appeared that the woman did not watch the match till its conclusion as she was led away by the security officer during the match, said a police statement.
Police spokesperson Atti al-Qurashi did not confirm if any charges would be brought against the woman, however, he said that the details of her case had been “forwarded to the appropriate authorities”.
He further went on to remind readers of the Saudi newspaper Sabq that there was “the need for compliance with the regulations and instructions issued by the authorities with regard to this matter”.
